Kids Read Books In Order
The kids book series are chapter books for kids in elementary and middle grades. These books vary by topic and reading level but all are loved by young readers. Relatable characters, imaginative illustrations, and plenty of imagination are typical in these series.
Early Readers
These early reader book series are for kids that are just starting to read. These are a step past phonics & reader books. These small chapter books have short chapters and lots of pictures to keep younger readers engaged. The manageable chapters help new or hesitant readers feel successful. Text is usually larger and has larger spacing to help younger readers follow along easily.
Grades 1-3
These book series are for young readers in grades 1-3. Reading levels vary but the subject matter is geared toward younger readers in chapter book form. These books are usually about adventurous kids, friendship, magical creatures, and creativity. Illustrations are sprinkled throughout to help keep kids engaged.
Grades 3-5
These book series are for older elementary readers in grades 3-5. This age can read independently and the subject matter changes. These books are usually about navigating friendships and real life adversity.. The maturity of subject matter also brings fewer, if any, illustrations. Although younger kids may be able to read at this level, parents may want to read book descriptions beforehand.
Grades 6-8
These book series are for middle grade readers. Kids in grades 6-8 read independently and the subject matter matures for these tweens. These books are typically longer in length with no illustrations. These book series are usually enjoyed by older readers as well and usually make great movie adaptations. Although younger kids may be able to read at this level, parents may want to read book descriptions beforehand.
